You and your partner can lose weight together if you want to make a diet more successful. Doing it together also makes it faster to lose weight. Many couples fail to lose weight if his or her partner gets to eat your favorite food while you are not supposed to. It can be tempting to break a diet when this happens.

To lose weight together, you will both have to commit to doing the regimen together too. Set a schedule for your exercise or sports that you can do together. List foods that both of you agree to eat or not eat. It helps that both of you eat the same food and do the same exercise. Decide on the weight you each want to reach at the end of the diet. This is where both of you may have individual choices.

If you are both overweight, it is likely that your refrigerator contains fattening food. Take time one day to purge your refrigerator and kitchen cabinets of food that are fattening. Get rid of the food together. If you don’t want to throw food away, give them to the less fortunate or donate them to a soup kitchen. If you are both fond of ice cream, don’t buy a whole pint or gallon, instead go out for a scoop to satisfy the craving.

Join a gym together and sign up for a workout regimen. Exercising together is helpful if one of you tends to be lazy to work out. You can drag your better half to the gym for your work out. You can also enjoy jogging or running together. Playing a sport for two is also encouraging like tennis or badminton. You can bike together or play golf on weekends.

Encourage your partner if you see him or her losing interest in the diet. An advantage to a diet plan to lose weight together is that you can prod each other to commit to the diet plan. If the routine starts to get boring, change it a bit by shifting exercise routines. For example, if you two play tennis together, switch to biking to change the routine.

If you have work or emotional issues stopping you from continuing your diet, discuss ways to solve the problem. If you want to continue to lose weight together, you also have to deal with problems together. Identify the issues whether emotions, mental or even financial. Help your partner understand that stopping your weight loss plan won’t solve them. Exercise and good health can actually make a person feel better.

Keep a record of your progress. This way you can tell which one of you is lagging behind. Weigh yourselves every few days or at least once a week and put the data in your record. Monitoring both your progress can help you understand which one needs more help with the diet.

Create a reward system to encourage some competition. For example, the one who losses more weight gets massage from the other partner who lost less weight. Discover more incentives to encourage each other to lose weight together. The one who losses more weight at the end of your weight loss plan gets a gift he really wants from the losing partner. They say couples who do things together stay happy longer, that includes couples of who sports together, do hobbies together, and maybe even lose weight together.
